Acetabular Central Fracture Dislocation after Generalized Seizure during Lumbar Myelography with Iohexol
Fracture is a less common complication in seizure patients, and fractures as a consequence of convulsive seizures without direct trauma occur in 0.3% of cases. Acetabular fractures after convulsions are even more rare, and only a few cases of acetabular fracture dislocations, purely caused by convulsive activity, have been reported. Therefore, we report a case of unilateral acetabular central f...
متن کاملAdverse reactions after iohexol lumbar myelography: influence of postprocedural positioning.
A prospective study of 110 patients having iohexol lumbar myelograms indicates that patient positioning does not significantly influence the frequency of adverse postprocedural reactions. Thus, after the procedure, patients may be allowed to choose either ambulation or bed rest with their heads raised.
متن کاملAseptic meningoencephalitis after iohexol CT myelography.
We describe the case of a patient with aseptic meningoencephalitis after intrathecal iohexol injection for myelography and review the previous literature on similar cases of contrast-induced neurotoxicity.
متن کاملIohexol versus metrizamide for lumbar myelography: double-blind trial.
Lumbar myelography was performed in 50 patients; 25 received iohexol (an investigational aqueous contrast agent) and 25 received metrizamide. The two media produced radiographs of equal quality. However, iohexol is stable in solution, while metrizamide is not. Further, markedly less morbidity resulted from iohexol. These features indicate that iohexol may be superior to metrizamide as a contras...
متن کاملPositioning of patients after metrizamide lumbar myelography.
This prospective study of 90 patients after lumbar metrizamide myelography indicates that the semiupright position at 45 degrees in bed or early ambulation reduces postprocedure vomiting but does not reduce the frequency of headache. Ambulatory patients have less frequent nausea than patients kept in bed.
